No..still here!

I cannot believe I have not blogged a word since Christmas!!  Its February 14th and its been a good day.  That isn't something I thought I would have said at 7:45 this morning as I cried on the way to work.  Some mornings are just rough..period.  Today's roughness was brought courtesy of a sickly child, lack of sleep and well, lack of sleep.  But that passed and the day got better.

In the two months since I have blogged a lot has happened and then again, not so much has happened.  We have stayed busy, J man being the busiest of us all.  He is 2 in every possible way. He has 2 speeds: On and Off and he gets frustrated easily.  But he is growing and amazing us on a daily basis.  Everyday he asks for his music to be turned "ahff ahff" which really means ON but he prefers the way "ahff" rolls off the tongue more than ON so "ahff" (off) it will be.

We as a family are currently without church.  We felt led back around the first of December that the season at our old church was coming to an end.  It is always a bittersweet time  because you know you will miss the friends you have made and will miss seeing their faces each week but at the same time there is something new and exciting about the next journey.  We have been visiting a church for a few weeks and I am not sure it is where we will land for the next chapter but for now its a good place.

I cannot believe we are halfway through February and I am staring Spring Break down the barrel.  This school year is flying by and seems more rushed, hurried and even haggard than ever before.  I do believe a revamp in some lessons is needed to streamline things a tad.  But that will have to be a summer project because there is no time currently.

I know this has been quite the random post but hopefully its just a small glimpse of US.  We are good and we are so very blessed.  Here are some fun pictures of the family.
Have a blessed weekend.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I pray you have a blessed Christmas and may the New Year bring an abundance of blessings.

"And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end."
Luke 1:30-33

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to my sweet boy. Today you turn 2 and I can hardly believe it.  You are growing so quickly, talking up a storm and are the light of mine and daddy's life.  You love to read books and hug on Maddie (although she isn't always sure about it). You have the best laugh and we hear it often.  You make us smile everyday and are a very busy little boy.  You have 2 speeds: Off and On. You have 2 lovies you sleep with because one isn't enough and you only end up in mommy and daddy's bed once a week.  You crawl up in my lap when you hear Skype calling Mimi and love to sit while she and Papaw talk to you.  Everyday you have a new word and this week you have been singing "ashes ashes we all fall down" in the perfect 2 year old voice. You have sweet manners and say & sign Thank You all the time.
I am in constant awe as I watch you grow and daddy and I could not be more excited to watch you grow up. You are our little blessing and we thank the Lord everyday for you.  Happy Birthday Jack we love you.

How to clean your LED/Computer Screen

I do not usually post about cleaning techniques as this is not a strong area for me but today I have been impressed!  For my husband's 35th birthday I surprised him with a new flat screen TV.  At one time something was on the screen and he tried to clean it and left this patch of smear on the screen.  Since then we have had a child and that said child is now very mobile and eats and drinks all over the house.  Chocolate milk was recently added to our TV screen.  It was time to find a solution and get this screen clean!!  Well Google to the rescue! I read up on some options for cleaning an LED or computer screen without scratching or causing damage.  Here is the solution:

1. Buy a microfiber cloth. I found mine for $2 at the Wal-mart.  It was suggested to make sure this cloth is reserved ONLY for cleaning your screens.  This should never be washed with laundry softener or dried with a dryer sheet. I will be washing mine and hanging dry.

2. A solution of equal parts Distilled Water and Isopropyl Alcohol.  I used 1/4 cup of each and put in a new spray bottle. I then labeled said bottle clearly with this statement. "TV Screen Spray: Spray ONLY ONTO THE CLOTH NEVER ONTO the SCREEN"

Once I had tools in hand I went to work.  This was slow work but it WORKED!! I sprayed the cloth and began to clean an area.  The alcohol in the solution seemed to cause it to evaporate quickly so I had to re-spray the cloth lightly but that was not a problem.  After about 15 minutes of cleaning the old smear and the newer dried chocolate milk were all gone! Its really amazing how clean and bright the screen is now!!

I think the hubs will approve.
Have a great day!!

Christmas is Approaching

We were able to get the Christmas tree decorated Saturday night after J-man went to bed.  Sunday morning we were able to catch his reaction on video. Sweet sweet moments.  Love that boy!

Fall Happenings.

Brian and my 20 Year class reunion a couple of weeks ago.
We attended the football game Friday night, family picnic Saturday afternoon and dinner Saturday evening.

Dinner and festivities at our reunion.  20 years is a long time!

Christa and I have known each other since we were 5!! Love this girl.

Pleasant Grove High School Class of 1992

Pumpkin Patch field trip with J's daycare class.  He wouldn't sit still for a picture so I had to catch him on the go.

Most of the pictures I took look like this.  J just running away.

Having a snack while on the hayride with our friends.
Yay!! We did get one family photo.

This weekend we travelled down to Waxahachie to see Uncle Martin's band march. J actually sat still for the entire 6 minute show. He was completely enthralled.

The Yoda hat!!  J didn't take his eyes off the bands when they were marching.
